Job Description:

·         Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers

·         Develop work schedules and establish procedures

·         Day to day farm staff, intern, and volunteer management

·         Directing all field operations; cultivation, irrigation, planting/transplanting, harvests, etc.

·         Management of all post-harvest operations

·         Perform general farm duties

·         Soil fertility and preparation

·         Maintenance of a diverse selection and well-timed successions of row crop production

·         Seed selection and plant propagation

·         Supervise harvest operations :  Direct seeding and transplanting for scheduled harvests

·         Tree fruit production including pruning, thinning, pest control, replanting, etc.

·         Supervise farm operations: Harvest, post-harvest, and storage of crops

·         Maintaining daily journal entries

·         Maintaining a clean and orderly environment

·         Irrigation system maintenance, and management of farm crew irrigator

·         Maintain quality control and production records

·         Crop/input/harvest record keeping

·         Basic tool and equipment maintenance

·         Pest and disease management

·         Train workers

Requirements:

-Education: Completion of high school

·         Minimum 3 years production market farming experience

·         Good interpersonal and supervisory skills

·         Knowledge of basic tools, machinery operation/ maintenance

·         Good organizational skills

Salary: $14.00 to $15.62 hourly, 40.00 Hours per week
