services to employers!
EK Employment is proud to deliver the Employment Program of BC. We are a network of four WorkBC Employment Services Centres who work daily with job seekers and employers, and enjoy promoting working in this region.
Services to employers focus on supporting recruitment and retention efforts. All are FREE.
Our goal is to make meaningful connections between job seekers and employers, and to foster sustainable, mutually beneficial employment opportunities.
Services available to employers include:
- Free Job Advertisements - Posting a vacancy through EK Employment means you reach your local and regional labour market through one site and multiple avenues. Once a position is posted through our website it is then also posted to our office job boards and Facebook pages. Popular job search websites (e.g. Wow Jobs) pull our feed and post our jobs to their boards. Many EK Employment Centres also distribute a summary of active jobs to community groups (e.g. libraries) for display weekly.
- Resume Drop Off Location - Find the collection of resumes and applications overwhelming? Need to post a job anonymously? Employers can arrange collection of resumes through their local EK Employment Centre.
- Room Bookings - Employers looking for a location to host employment related events are welcome to use their local EK Employment Centre at no charge. This, for example, could include conducting interviews off-site or job fairs. Simply contact your local EK Employment Centre to confirm availability.
- Recruitment Support - Finding, getting, and keeping staff can be a significant challenge and EK Employment is excited to work alongside employers throughout this process. We strive to be on the leading edge of information for our unique labour market and are keen to know more about what it is like to work at your business. Staying connected with us means that we are best prepared to connect you with the most qualified candidates and capable of connecting you to needed services.
- Wage Subsidy Program - Training new employees if often a significant investment for employers. Sometimes the best hire may require additional training, but is worth the investment. In recognition of this a wage subsidy provides a financial support to an employer as incentive to hire and provide work experience and skills training enhancement to an eligible job seeker. Various programs are available to employers. Staff at your local EK Employment Centre can help connect you to the program that best suits your business needs. Additional information on Employment Program of BC's wage subsidy program is available online (see quick links below) or by contacting us.
- Job Start Supports - Have you hired a new employee who is struggling to get started with you? It could be an issue with uniform, equipment, certification, or transportation. If so, through the Employment Program of BC, we may be able to support your new hire to get to their first day! Job seekers with confirmed job offers who are experiencing such challenges should contact their local EK Employment Centre.
